Mike Francesa predicts NBA Finals rankings catastrophe

Mike Francesa isn’t completely happy about this week’s lull within the NBA playoffs schedule. 

The Celtics swept the Pacers after which the Mavericks took down the Timberwolves in 5 video games a couple of days later, leaving sports activities followers ready a full seven days earlier than the NBA Finals begin.

It’s one thing that may spell “catastrophe” for the league, based on Francesa. 

“The NBA Finals will start in every week, which is a catastrophe for the NBA,” he stated on “The Mike Francesa Podcast” on Friday. “I do know they will’t do something about it, I do know they need to schedule it. They don’t know what metropolis these items are going to be performed in, it’s not just like the Tremendous Bowl. I perceive why they’re doing what they’re doing, however I feel it actually hurts their product and it actually hurts the marginal fan.”

The schedule for the NBA Finals, which ideas off June 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET in Boston, has been set for almost a month, based on Boston.com.

“You bought nothing out of the Convention Finals,” he stated his podcast”. “You bought no build-up, no drama going towards the Finals…You’re now having no basketball on for every week. That rhythm you’ve gotten into, even when you’re a marginal fan, of there being basketball each evening within the playoffs … Now there’s not any basketball for seven days.

“You had no drama within the Convention Finals and you’ve got every week off. This factor is gonna get misplaced. These rankings for the NBA Finals are going to be horrible. If I have been within the NBA workplace, I’d be leaping up and down saying, ‘That is the worst factor that would have probably occurred to us is to have every week off proper now.’ We’re going into these Finals with no momentum. None.”
