MANILA, Philippines — Former lawmaker Trisha Bonoan-David seeks to embody a Bible verse as a tenet in her management if she wins as consultant of the Metropolis of Manila’s 4th district within the 2025 nationwide and native elections.

She filed her certificates of candidacy on Saturday and is operating as an unbiased candidate.

“I’m operating due to a Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, could plano ang Diyos para sa ating lahat,” she informed reporters in an interview.

“Ang plano niya ang magkaroon tayo ng maunlad na pamumuhay at ayaw niya tayong mahirapan at nagugutom. At sinabi Niya…nais Niya…na tayo ay magkaroon ng pag-asa—punong-puno ng pag-asa—at darating din ang magandang kinabukasan,” she mentioned.

Bonoan-David additional mentioned her “mission” is to reside by what the Bible verse mentioned via her time period.

“Ang misyon ko ay magbigay ng katotohanan dito sa Bible verse na ito na totoo…totoo na could plano ang Diyos, pero ang plano na ‘yun, mayroong finances, mayroong pondo,” she mentioned, referring to congressional funds.

(My mission is to share the reality on this Bible verse—that it’s true… that God has a plan, however that plan comes with a finances and funding.)

She mentioned she plans on using the funds for livelihood, training, and housing tasks.

“Imbis sa street tasks, give it to the individuals. The applications can be in accordance with what the Bible says, which is para mapaunlad ‘yung buhay ng tao,” mentioned Bonoan-David.
