Arthur’s Trip Surges to Second Place in Newest Breeders’ Cup Basic Rankings

Every week a panel of media members, horseplayers, and Breeders’ Cup World Championships officers launch a ballot tabulating their votes on the nation’s prime contenders for the 2024 Longines Breeders’ Cup Basic. The rankings are a weekly ranking of the highest 10 horses in competition and are decided by every voter rating their prime 10 horses with factors assigned on a descending 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 foundation.

Week Two of the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Basic rankings is led by prime 3-year-old Dornoch. New within the ballot this week is Arthur’s Trip, who debuts at No. 2 following his win within the $1 million, Grade 1 Whitney Stakes, Aug. 3 at Saratoga Race Course.

The rankings can be up to date every week. The outcomes of the newest ballot are under.
