An Emmy statue is seen forward of the 74th Emmy Awards on the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, on September 12, 2022. “Shogun” is tipped to develop into the primary ever non-English-language winner of the Emmy for finest drama – essentially the most prestigious prize on the small-screen equal of the Oscars – at a glitzy ceremony on Sept. 15, 2024. The epic sequence about feuding dynasties within the intricate and lethal royal courts of Seventeenth-century Japan is predicted to make historical past with wins for its solid, together with veteran main man Hiroyuki Sanada, on the gala in downtown Los Angeles. Sunday’s different massive winners may embody “The Bear,” a darkish comedy set within the Chicago restaurant scene that returned for an experimental second season, and Netflix’s controversial restricted sequence “Child Reindeer.” (Picture by ROBYN BECK / AFP)
